    ROASTED PINEAPPLE UPSIDE DOWN CLASSIC CAKE 

     

    The roasted pineapple upside down cake is an American classic. This simple yet stunning recipe will never go out of style. A taste riot in every bite, this dessert is perfect for any occasion. 


    Preparation time: 55 minutes (Serves 4) 

    Ingredients:

           1 cup refined flour

           1 cup sugar grain

           ½ cup butter

           1½ tsp baking powder

           ½ tsp vanilla extract

           ¾ cup milk

           1 tbsp flax seed powder soaked in ½ cup milk

           ½ tsp salt 

    Preparation:

           Heat the oven to 160ºC

           In a baking tin, melt some butter in the oven

           Sprinkle brown sugar evenly over the melted butter

           Lightly char some pineapple slices on a live coal

           Arrange these slices over the brown sugar

           Place a cherry in the centre of each pineapple slice

           In a bowl, beat the butter and sugar together

           Add flaxseed slurry, milk and beat

           Now add the vanilla extract and the dry ingredients

           Pour batter over the lined tray

           Bake for 45 minutes

           Check by inserting a knife, it should come out clean

    Ingredients:

           ¼ cup butter

            2/3 cup brown sugar

           9 pineapple slices (drained)

           9 cherries
